MTC-603 SYLLABUS
"Product Definition: Structure, Methods, & Application"

Application:           System, component and quality engineers, and others who need an in-depth understanding of the Production Definition System.

Prerequisites:        MTC-601 or Approval of the instructor.

Structure:              Training is 1/2 day in length, consisting of one four hour session.

Description:           Presents the DOE-accepted methods of definition system including numbering methods, prefix definition, and other aspects needed to support the design definition of product.

                              Following are the primary topics:

  • Product Definition (TBP-300 Series)

  • Records Management (TBP-500 Series)

  • Procurement (TBP-600 Series)

Objectives:            Upon completion of the training, the student will be able to:

  • Identify the basic tenets of product definition,

  • Select the appropriate product definition system requirements for projects utilizing an NWC or commercial supplier.

Requirements:       Attendance and participation in all class activities, i.e., completion of Pre-Class & Post Class Course Material Tests, and the completion of the Student Course Evaluation.
